NFL WEEK 4 UPDATE

We've reached the end of the first quarter of the 2014 NFL Season and what a crazy month it's been.  Just to give you an idea of how extremely unpredictable it's been, take a look at these chain of events over the first 4 weeks of the season.

The Buccaneers beat the Steelers.  The Steelers beat the Panthers.  The Panthers beat the Lions.  The Lions beat the Packers.  The Packers beat the Bears.  The Bears beat the 49ers.  The 49ers beat the Eagles.  The Eagles beat the Colts.  The Colts beat the Titans.  The Titans beat the Chiefs.  The Chiefs beat the Dolphins.  The Dolphins beat the Patriots.  The Patriots beat the Vikings.  The Vikings beat the Falcons.  The Falcons beat the Buccaneers.

What does all of that mean?  Obviously I have no idea!!  Other than to say that we're in store for one incredible season!!

By reaching the conclusion of the first quarter of the season, it's time for the first edition of my 2014 NFL Power Rankings, or as I like to call them, The Pittman's Power Rankings.

THE PITTMAN'S POWER RANKINGS - 1ST QUARTER EDITION

32.  JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (0-4) - Bad attendance, bad uniforms, bad team.

31.  OAKLAND RAIDERS (0-4) - The Silver and Black are FAR from being back.

30.  TENNESSEE TITANS (1-3) - No one will remember these Titans.

29.  TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (1-3) - Why did Josh McCown win starting QB job?

28.  WASHINGTON REDSKINS (1-3) - Cousins can't cut it in DC.

27.  NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (1-3) - Things are uneasy down in the Big Easy.

26.  ST. LOUIS RAMS (1-3) - Once Bradford went down, so did the Rams hopes of a good season.

25.  NY JETS (1-3) - It's time to have Geno Smith sit and bring in Michael Vick.

24.  CLEVELAND BROWNS (1-2) - This team is 2 last second field goals away from being 3-0.

23.  MIAMI DOLPHINS (2-2) - Beat New England in Week 1 and won in London in Week 4.

22.  BUFFALO BILLS (2-2) - It's not good if you're looking to Kyle Orton to turn things around.

21.  MINNESOTA VIKINGS (2-2) - 75 points scored in 2 wins versus 16 points scored in 2 losses.

20.  CAROLINA PANTHERS (2-2) - Cam Newton continues to crumble like a Fig Newton.

19.  PITTSBURGH STEELERS (2-2) - Pathetic play plus a plethora of penalties plague Pittsburgh.

18.  CHICAGO BEARS (2-2) - Here's a weird stat, the Bears are 2-0 on the road but 0-2 at home.

17.  ATLANTA FALCONS (2-2) - Atl. has scored the 2nd most points and allowed the 3rd most.

16.  NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (2-2) - The Brady/Belichick Era could be coming to an end.

15.  NY GIANTS (2-2) - After a poor start to the season Eli Manning and the G-Men are rolling.

14.  KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (2-2) - Nearly beat Broncos in Denver and demolished Fins and Pats.

13.  GREEN BAY PACKERS (2-2) - Relax Packer fans, Rodgers and company are going to be fine.

12.  HOUSTON TEXANS (3-1) - Surprise team of 2014.  Have already eclipsed 2013 wins total.

11.  DETROIT LIONS (3-1) - Could this be the season it all comes together for the Lions?

10.  INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (2-2) - Led by Luck, offense is unstoppable and defense is improving.

9.  PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (3-1) - Could easily be 0-4 and Shady McCoy is shadow of himself.

8.  SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (2-2) - D will keep them in games but O needs to score too.

7.  BALTIMORE RAVENS (3-1) - A rejuvenated Steve Smith has the Ravens back in contention.

6.  DALLAS COWBOYS (3-1) - It's been 40 years since the last time Dallas led the NFL in rushing.

5.  SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (3-1) - Will losing top 2 RBs eventually catch up to them?

4.  ARIZONA CARDINALS (3-0) - Playoff caliber team last year.  Appear even better this year.

3.  DENVER BRONCOS (2-1) - Next 5 games: AZ, @ NYJ, SF, SD, @ NE.  Ouch!!

2.  SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (2-1) - The offense & not the defense will carry the Hawks this season.

1.  CINCINNATI BENGALS (3-0) - Have given up an NFL low 33 points this season.

And there you have the first quarter edition of the Pittman's Power Rankings.  The next edition will be at the halfway point of the season.  It'll be interesting to see how much changes between now and then.  Until next week....
